Description

A great activity to get kids moving around! There are 20 problems in the forms of p(x+q)=r, p(x-q)=r, r=p(x+q) and r=p(x-q). There are blank work space pages that are included, along with a blank route sheet. Each stop along the scavenger hunt gives the students a letter. When they have completed the route, they take the letters that are in order and discover a the answer to the riddle. Students can start at any point along the scavenger hunt and will be able to complete the route. Best part, print ready activity! Purchase, download, print and hang up problems around the room! Make multiple copies of the work space pages that allow students to keep their problems organized and space to work problems. Happy teaching!

Use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve problems by reasoning about the quantities.
Solve word problems leading to equations of the form 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 = 𝘳 and 𝘱(𝘹 + 𝘲) = 𝘳, where 𝘱, 𝘲, and 𝘳 are specific rational numbers. Solve equations of these forms fluently. Compare an algebraic solution to an arithmetic solution, identifying the sequence of the operations used in each approach. For example, the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm. Its length is 6 cm. What is its width?
