This resource contains 32 task cards to help practice solving two-step equations. Equations contain negative numbers and rational numbers, while all answers are integers.
These task cards are provided in 3 different formats.
✦“Be the Expert” format (described below)
✦Traditional color task cards
✦Traditional black/white task cards
"Be the Expert" is my favorite new spin on task cards! The problem is on one side. On the other side is the correct answer, and space for the student to show how to get that answer. Students rotate around, solving each other’s problems. If a student’s partner has trouble with their problem, they can “be the expert” and coach them on how to get the correct answer. The inside of the task card tent has a short, 2 question exit ticket. (Note: A duplicate of the exit ticket is placed in between every page of task cards to make printing easier for you). If you're interested in more information about this task card format, you can read about it here on my blog
Note: This set of task cards does not include equations that require use of the distributive property.
