Have a ton of plastic eggs? Want to use them in your classroom? Students are too advanced for onset/rime or matching uppercase and lowercase? Challenge them with this two-syllable word egg match where students are combining reading, writing, and coloring for a fun, hands-on literacy center!
These recording sheets provide students with accountability during centers. Students will twist their egg to make a variety of two-syllable words. The words you use are up to your choosing! I chose two-syllable words where most can be decoding with letter/sound correspondence; however, some require a little more thought.
There are 4 different recording sheets that can be used to provide differentiation. Practice of this center can drive students to increase their vocabulary.
Also included is a directions sheet which you may wish to laminate and display near the materials to help students get started and work independently.
