This Two Syllable Words - Word Building/Spelling Kit, from Lil' Reading Scientists Literacy Solutions TM, teaches students how to read and spell two syllable words, and how to divide them for decoding and encoding.

In Level 13 of the Lil' Reading Scientists' curriculum, Syllable Division Rule # 3 is taught: Divide between the middle two consonants. Additionally, Syllable Division Rule # 4 is taught: Divide between the suffix and the base word. Students also work on identifying syllable types: the closed syllable and the Magic E syllable. Additionally, students work on identifying schwas in two syllable words.
