Get to know your students with this back to school icebreaker activity.
Two truths and one lie is a classic icebreaker activity. Your students will create three claims. Two of the claims will be the truth and one of the claims will be a lie. Students will share their claims with fellow classmates and try to decipher which claim is false. Through this process, they will not only get to work on their lie detecting skills, but they will also get to know a few interesting facts about each other.
This product includes:
- A student handout for writing 3 claims
- A link to an editable google slideshow which goes over the rules, directions, and has an embedded link to "the top 10 signs a person may be lying." This comes from a forensic science blog. I like to go over this information prior to setting the students loose. This way, they have some background knowledge which may help them figure out the lie.
