Description

This addition game pack is designed to provide practice with adding 2 and 3 digit numbers with and without regrouping. The pack includes six black ink only games to use in your math center. They're also great for teachers organizing distance learning or parents to use in at home learning.

They are aligned with the Common Core Standards and cater to different ability levels making them perfect for differentiation.

The games are designed to be used by an individual player, partners or groups of 3.

Spin to Win 1 requires players to add 8, 9 or 10 to a two digit number.

Spin to Win 2 requires players to add two 2 digit numbers without regrouping.

Spin to Win 3 and 4require players to add two 2 digit numbers together with regrouping.

Spin to Win 5 requires players to add 2 and 3 digit numbers together with regrouping.

Spin to Win 6 requires players to add two 3 digit numbers together with regrouping.

The games are designed for both partner play and individual use. Each game has a spinner and two types of recording sheet.

A. Vertical format recording sheet: The answers to all possible equations are on the outside of the sheet (or in the case of one player games, in the circles on the sheet) therefore, if a player cannot locate the answer, they need to look at the working out of the equation and correct it. Have players hand in the sheet after playing. This allows you to see the working out of each equation and identify any problems your students might have.

B. The horizontal recording sheet encourages players to use mental math strategies. Use this format with more proficient players.

When using the 2 player games you might like to partner up children with different ability levels. This allows the more proficient child to provide support for the less able child during the game. The more proficient child should be able to model the correct format for writing equations and show the other child how to correctly perform addition with regrouping.

Rules are written on each spinner. For your more visual learner, I have included the instructions in a step-by-step format with pictures to allow for them to follow more easily.
