Type III assessment data can be overwhelming! Pretest scores, posttest scores, target scores, etc. This spreadsheet can help keep you organized!
The spreadsheet is laid out like a typical grade book with the student names in the column to the left. Enter the students' pretest scores. Then, determine your target growth percentage. The spreadsheet will automatically determine each students' posttest target. You may also individualize this by typing their goal percentage right in the cell (otherwise you enter one target for the whole class). The spreadsheet will enter 100% as the highest for the target, no matter how high their pretest score was.
Once the posttest results are in, the spreadsheet will determine if each student met their target or not. The spreadsheet calculates the high and low score for each test, as well as the average score. It will figure out the high and low improvement, and also the average improvement. You may also enter a maximum number of absences--if the students go over this, their data will not be included in the "met/did not meet" numbers.
You will download an Excel file. The file includes information on how to access the free Google docs version of the spreadsheet.
