Are your ready to hear your students say, " Hey, did you find this one?"
This activity covers many different skills. It is an Eye Spy with angles and lines. Your students will search for different types of angles: acute, obtuse, and right. They will also be on the lookout for types of lines: perpendicular, intersecting, and parallel.
This activity has a Frosty Angle and Line Scene where your student will search for types of angles and lines in a snow covered neighborhood. They will get to search for the angles and lines throughout a circus as well as a neighborhood playground, park and a great outdoor camping trip.
Your students have been given directions to find at least 5 (there are many more) of each type of angle and line mentioned and mark with different colored pencils, crayons or markers. They will mark each the following way: acute angle -blue, obtuse angle - orange, right angle - red, perpendicular lines - purple, parallel lines - pink and intersecting lines - green. This will give you the teacher an easy way to scan for understanding.
They have also been directed to add some creativity of their own to the picture. They will add something with at least two different types of angles and lines to the picture as well.
This is an engaging and fun way to check for understanding of these skills. Answer sheets are included for each different scene. I marked more than 5 of each type of lines and angles, but there are so many, you won't believe the conversation and finds your students will make. I hope they enjoy as much as my students did with this activity.
