Are you looking for the perfect activity that will engage your students and give them an opportunity to put principles into practice, leading them down a road toward a deeper comprehension of the types of fiscal policy? Look no further. This is the one you've been looking for!
This activity includes:
1) This "Types of Fiscal Policy" Activity includes 4 parts. It begins with a vividly colorful graphic organizer that asks your students to define each type of fiscal policy and identify important characteristics that differentiate each. Next, students will apply what they've learned to list the tools that government can use to correct economic conditions and classify expansionary and contractionary fiscal policy. Next, students will investigate 8 separate policies used by government to fix economic conditions and correctly identify the type of fiscal policy that is implemented by government. Students will also have to identify if the policy is an example of discretionary or non-discretionary policy. Finally, using 4 separate examples provided, students will be asked to critically think to diagnose the economic problems plaguing the economy and then prescribe the appropriate fiscal policy that should correct economic conditions. Students will have to explain their conclusions to demonstrate their comprehension.
This activity can be used in many different ways in the classroom. Students can work independently, in pairs or this activity can be used as a jigsaw in order to facilitate a class wide discussion about the topics discussed in the activity.
2) A detailed answer key to the lesson activity to save you time and help guide student comprehension.
