Use these simple exit tickets to have your students apply their understanding of types of friction. Students will engage in the NGSS Science and Engineering Practice of Developing and Using Models to show their depth of knowledge. There are modeling prompts focused on static friction, fluid friction, rolling friction, and sliding friction and exit ticket comes in two formats with for varying levels of scaffolding. Use these at the beginning of a unit to obtain data on what your students already know, use them to wrap up a lesson, in science centers, or as a performance task at the end of your unit!
