Product Description
I call this simulation Spaghetti and Marshmallows Government Types. Using the classic team-building premise of building a tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows, I threw in a twist. Students work in groups (Autocracy, Theocracy, Republic or Oligarchy) to create their towers. Each government group must make decisions based on THEIR type of government. For example, the group in an autocracy can't make any decisions without the permission of the king or queen. Students learn the basic concepts of different governments through this fun and engaging activity that also includes a reflective writing prompt at the end to synthesize what they learned. (I included a slide with a few brief notes for teachers on how I structured the activity)
