Types of sentences ~ Looking for a fun way to practice identifying the four type of sentences (statement, command, question and exclamation) and the punctuation that each type requires? I use this PowerPoint presentation with my students as a quick and engaging way to review the sentence types. The words and phrases are animated throughout the presentation, and since students must record their answers as the slides progress, they stay actively involved.
This presentation includes:
- 4 anchor slides, 1 for each of the 4 sentence types, giving an example, a definition and punctuation
- 12 practice slides with sentences given – students are asked to identify the type of sentence and which punctuation goes at the end (answers come up on the slide when you click for immediate feedback)
- a recording sheet to use with your students along with the presentation to keep them engaged
- a follow up sheet for students to create their own sentences (2 kinds of lines)
This is a PowerPoint presentation created in PowerPoint 2010. Please download the preview to test it out on your computer so you can make sure it works before purchasing.
