In this activity, students cut out cards to glue onto a sheet of paper or in their writing journals. Each card has specific sentence requirements for students to follow. For example: "An exclamatory sentence with a compound subject" or "An interrogative sentence with a past tense verb." Students will write the type of sentence called for on the card below where they pasted it.
This activity allows students to test their types of sentences and grammar knowledge while being creative! Students can choose how silly or how odd they want their sentences to be and it allows you to see if they truly understand grammar concepts and sentence structure.
Great as a partner activity, writing center, seatwork, and grammar/sentence review!
