Students will read sentences and determine whether it is a declarative, imperative, interrogative, or exclamatory sentence.

Description

Teach your students about the four types of sentences with this 54-slide language PowerPoint. It is designed to keep your students engaged and attentive as they learn to identify the 4 types of sentences: declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, imperative.

***A PowerPoint companion handout is also included in this file. Students can follow along and record answers on this handout as you progress through the PowerPoint! The companion handout is available in both printable format or digital format. The digital version is compatible with Google Slides and is ideal for distance learning.**

The PowerPoint contains the following format:

Slides 1-2: Cover and Introduction

Slides 3-5: Introduction to Declarative Sentences

Slides 6-9: Introduction to Interrogative Sentences

Slides 10-13: Introduction to Exclamatory Sentences

Slides 14-22: Introduction to Imperative Sentences

Slide 23: Review

Slides 24-35: Practice Slides: Students are given a sentence, and they have to identify which type of sentence it is (punctuation is provided).

Slides 36-48: Practice Slides: Students are given a sentence, and they have to identify which type of sentence it is (punctuation is NOT provided).

Slides 49-54: Practice Slides: Students are given the type of sentence, and they must identify which of the 4 sentences fits in that category.
