Product Description
This types of sentences resource includes a wide range of activities to help your students practice identifying declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences. All the activities make great literacy centers in grade 2, grade 3, and grade 4!

The following activities are included:

• Interactive Notebook Page: Each sentence type is defined on the top of a flap. Students paste into notebooks and write example sentences under each flap. (Page 4)

• Cut and Paste Punctuation: Students cut out the punctuation marks at the bottom of each page and paste the correct punctuation at end of each sentence. They then write the sentence type on the line provided. (Pages 5-10)

• What Kind of Sentence Is It?: Includes 24 task cards. Students read the sentence on each card and determine what type of sentence it is. A recording sheet and answer key are included. (Pages 11-18)

• Four Types of Sentences Differentiated Cut and Pastes: Two options are offered for each printable cut and paste sort. In the first option, students write in the correct punctuation mark before pasting the sentence into the correct sentence type category. In the second option, punctuation marks are provided. Students only need to cut out the sentences, sort, and paste. (Pages 19-26)

• Sentences in a Story: Students search a book of choice for examples of each type of sentence. They are asked to record two examples of each type. Options with and without handwriting lines are provided. (Pages 27-30)

• Sentences Around the Room: Students walk quietly around the classroom searching for examples of each sentence types. They are asked to record two examples of each type of sentence. Options with and without handwriting lines are provided. (Pages 31-34)

The activities included in this resource pack address the following Common Core Standards for Grade 1:
*CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.1.J: Produce and expand complete simple and compound declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences in response to prompts.
*CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.2.B: Use end punctuation for sentences.

The activities included in this resource pack address the following Common Core Standards for Grade 2:
*CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.1.F: Produce, expand, and rearrange complete simple and compound sentences (e.g., The boy watched the movie; The little boy watched the movie; The action movie was watched by the little boy).
*CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.

The activities included in this resource pack address the following Common Core Standards for Grade 3:
*CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.3.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
