This is a 45 slide PowerPoint which describes and illustrates three types of volcanoes and the kind of eruption that causes each type. Included are the shield volcano created by an Icelandic or Hawaiian eruption, a cinder cone volcano formed by a Strombolian eruption, and the composite or stratovolcano formed by a Vulcanian, a Pelean, or a Plinian eruption. There are pictures to illustrate each type of volcano and eruption. There is also an opportunity to label the parts of a composite volcano. Included are a few suggestions for videos to view that support the lesson.
I also have a note-taking guide available to purchase that students may fill out while viewing the PowerPoint to keep them engaged while learning.
