This project has students create their own U. S. Map. They may use materials such as construction paper, poster board, etc. They follow the instructions on the rubric to label and color their map. I've used this project as a first activity from the first day of school, before all students received their textbooks. This is a hands-on, engaging activity for all students, but is especially effective for special education students, English Language Learners, and students who struggle with grade level material.
