This packet is perfect to use with ELLs or even Students with Disabilities. This is a no-prep packet that allows these students to participate in all of the activities on an independent level.
Lesson 1: Simplified note-catcher that is much easier to use and understand. Students will provide a summary of the article, draw a picture of what it looks like, and draw a picture of what it does not look like.
Lesson 2: A modified and simplified version of the UDHR background.
Lesson 5: Modified Mid-Unit Assessment that includes mostly multiple choice questions and 1 short answer.
Lesson 9: Modified Nepali Reading. The reading is split up into smaller sections. Each section is followed by a comprehension question. Sentence starters to answer the questions are included after each question.
Lesson 11: Final Assessment (Two Versions)
Version 1 includes the reading from the actual assessment. The reading is split into chunks of text. There are comprehension questions after each section. Some of the questions are multiple-choice and some are short answer.
Version 2 can be used with Entering and Emerging ELLs. It is very simple and asks the students to choose two articles from the UDHR and draw a picture of them.
