This file contains the 20 topics that appear to be the most frequently asked on the NYS Geometry Common Core Regents Exam. This includes partitioning a directed line segment, using trigonometry to find missing side lengths, and area of a sector. There is one page per topic, as well as an introduction page.
I have created a brief overview page of each topic, along with a list of the Regents questions from the past 8 exams that are based on that particular topic. (I also included the page number for reference for my class. We use the Mathematics That Works review books. I have included a PDF and Word Doc so you can edit those for whatever review book you might use. Please be sure you have the ability to use Equation in Microsoft Word in order to see the equations and formulas within the file. If not, they are visible in the PDF.
I believe that this is the best way for the students to prepare for the exam. Review one topic at a time repeatedly. Then the next. And so on. I think this shows them the importance of knowing a particular topic for the exam and also allows them to see how the Regents Exam may vary each topic's question slightly. After reviewing the first 5 topics, I give a quiz. After reviewing the next 5, I give a quiz on all 10 cumulative topics. And so on. This allows them to look at the test and say to themselves "I know there is a partitioning line segment questions here somewhere!" which is exactly what I want them to do on the Regents Exam.
I hope you find this as useful as I do! This would also be a great tool for summer school!
