This unit serves as a great foundational unit to biological concepts by studying the importance of water, and the role of carbon and macromolecules (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids).

-LAB "What Mixes with Water" to explore water as the universal solvent, but understanding one of the macromolecules discussed does NOT dissolve. This lab also allows for practice with hypotheses, identifying variables, and controls.
-"Create your own study guide" assignment based off of the learning goals found in the notes
-TEST consisting of multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and short answer questions
