Interactive Sight Word Readers allow students to read and spell sight words in a meaningful and engaging way.
This set of emergent readers provides students with an opportunity to read and spell sight words in a hands-on way, while integrating math and social studies content. The five emergent readers included in this mini bundle incorporate US coins and the accompanying presidents featured on each coin (penny, nickel, dime, and quarter). Each Interactive Sight Word Reader also features a specific word of study with a themed predictable sentence that is missing the featured sight word. Students will cut letters apart (included), then unscramble and glue the letters into each page to correctly spell the featured sight word. Picture support is also included throughout the readers.
The following Interactive Sight Word Readers are included in this collection (the featured sight word for each book is displayed in ALL CAPS).
What is on EVERY US Nickel?
I FOUND it on a Dime
HE is George Washington
I Can Trade ONE Dollar
THIS is Abraham Lincoln
Copy the desired book and the corresponding scrambled word cutouts for each student. Separate book pages by cutting each 8.5x11” sheet in half and staple the books together for students.
You can separate cutouts and distribute 1 word at a time in class, or provide students with full sheets of cutouts for a Literacy Center.
