This interactive lesson provides students with a hands-on activity to review the units of measurement within the U.S. Customary Measurement System. Included in this product are the units the measurement categories of length, capacity, weight and time. I feel that measurement is easier to grasp when you are able to see the big picture to compare/contrast all units.
This lesson includes table for each category of measurement in which the students will create a foldeable to view the size of each unit. This lesson will be sure to intrigue your students and offers another approach rather than the traditional worksheet. I have found great success in incorporating interactive lessons into my classrooms and my students have thoroughly enjoyed each lesson.
I have provided a template in which the students will color, cut and paste to a separate sheet of paper *or could be a great piece to add to a math journal!
This product includes:
- A procedures page, including the Common Core Standard, step-by-step directions, a photo example and a proficiency scale for students to reflect upon the lesson.
- A 'U.S. Customary Measurement' template
*This lesson is a part of an Interactive Math Journal that I use in my classroom but can be used as a single lesson as well. Check out my store for more interactive lessons!
