A jigsaw is an engaging way to breakdown content that has multiple parts with small group work. The teacher breaks the class down into small groups and each group is responsible for the information on each founding document. The groups present their information to the rest of the class. Not only does this allow for the students to work on their presentation skills, it holds each group accountable for gathering accurate and through information. It also makes sure that each student gets the content and the teacher has an opportunity to fill in any holes or elaborate on what the students found. The jigsaw worksheet also makes a great study tool for the students!
This product includes detailed instructions on how to run the activity and the student handout (including pictures of each of the documents).
