12 American States – States of the Midwest – Twelve Graphic Organizers. This resource includes 1 organizer and one answer key for each of the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
The organizers are designed so that students can do general research on one or more states. They are not meant to be complete state studies but will serve to accompany your class room teaching on the topic. There are many ways the organizers and activities could be used - individually, by region, as group work, as part of a project. They can also used as components of interactive notebooks. The organizers are a great way to give students experience doing basic research.
The students will need access to books and the Internet in most cases. I have included some useful websites in the teachers’ guide. The answer keys provide more than one example for the more general questions.
I have double-checked all information needed to complete the organizers - much of it comes from the American Census site (government) designed for students.
I also have a 50-State product that includes fifty graphic organizers, fifty answer keys, and 9 activities (with a Choice Board option). The 9 activity set and choice board option may be purchased separately. The activities work perfectly with my other three graphic organizer sets for the Northeastern states, Southern states and states of the West/Southwest.
