(new product) 169 US History Flash Cards (large print) plus 169 Roll Cards, a new card game I created. Students love these! Roll Cards are used like playing cards. Each player holds these cards in their hand, fanned out so that their opponent can see the term at the top of the cards. The opponent then rolls one die and then proceeds to select a card in his opponent’s hand (not taking it). Once they select the card and gives the definition of the term that was facing him (the definition is facing his opponent on his side of the card so they will know if he states the correct definition/example). If correct, they get to take the card and keep it as one of their points to be counted at the end. The roll of the die comes into play as that’s the number of cards/definitions the player gets to guess before stopping. So if they rolled a 3, they would get to guess 3 cards’ definitions as long as they didn’t miss the first two cards. Once they are wrong, they can’t keep guessing other definitions even if they rolled a 6. If the students have supplemental notes/definitions handy, they may use them but only for one of the terms per turn. Also, to add some excitement to the game, at any time during a players turn they may request a "draw" (only once per turn). A "draw" is where each player draws a card from the other player's hand. This "draw" will encourage the students to be looking at the definitions in their hand because one of their cards will be "drawn" soon and they need to know the definition to get it back (put it down to be scored as a point when no cards are left). (To prepare cards fold, laminate and cut out 3 cards from each sheet.)
These cards work well with the educational game board I have as a free download.
