PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

During our study of the 1960-70s and the Civil Rights Movement, I assign students the 1960s Music Project. I generally assign this about halfway through our studies and give students about two to three weeks to complete the project. This project is accompanied by an in-class modeling assignment using Young's "Southern Man" and Van Zant's "Sweet Home Alabama". It is designed to help students complete their assigned project, but also enrich their exploration of the time period. The in class song exploration takes a portion of three class periods (I teach on the block) and does require internet research access.
