I teach 8th grade U.S. History and our main focus of time is from Christopher Columbus up and through Reconstruction. In my school we have two days of final exams so I break our final up into two sections:

Section 1 - Columbus in 1492 to Manifest Destiny
Section 2 - Westward Expansion to the End of Reconstruction up to 1892

Here are some of the topics included:
Christopher Columbus, Amerigo Vespucci, Jamestown, Pocahontas, John Rolfe, Pilgrims, Puritans, The Salem Witch Trials, The French and Indian War, The Boston Massacre, The Stamp Act, Lexington and Concord, The Declaration of Independence, The Treaty of Paris, The Articles of Confederation, The Treaty of Paris, The Whiskey Rebellion, The Cotton Gin, Nat Turner, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Dred Scott, The Civil War, The Ku Klux Klan, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Ironclads, Appomattox Courthouse, 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, John Wilkes Booth, Sharecropping, Jim Crow Laws, Ida B. Wells, and Lynching to name a few.

As you can see in the preview, I have bound these into classroom sets so I can use them year after year. Students are provided an answer sheet to write on and you are provided an answer key. We are given 90 minutes for finals so I set a timer for 80 minutes and leave the last 10 minutes for us to grade the final in class. It takes about 5 minutes to read through all 100 answers, students put their score on top, turn in their booklets, and I collect their answer sheet at the door. Grades get entered, and it's over!
