Here are the instructions within the packet:
"Task: Your job is to look at each of the resolutions and craft a response. However, you are not responding with your own opinions. You are responding from eight different perspectives. You must imagine you these people in history and determine how you would then feel about the resolution.
End Game: Upon completion, we will be having circle discussions. You will rotate perspectives as you go through each resolution but you won’t know which perspective you will be until the day of the discussion. Be prepared!"
From the perspectives of an African American, a KKK member, A Native American, an Industrialist, a Laborer, a Chinese Immigrant, a Populist, and a Progressive, students will analyze and react to six resolutions regarding the Gilded Age.
The resolutions are about the following topics: Slavery, Assimilation, Social Darwinism, Chinese Exclusion, Urbanization, and Political Machines.
Topics were chosen based on the FL standards for U.S. History as well as the Focus Guides for the EOC exam.
