In this lesson, you will receive a DBQ packet, an exit ticket, a powerpoint presentation, and a lesson plan designed to reach high school students of US history. At least 60 minutes of activities included here, but the DBQ section could easily be expanded to fill two class periods.
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to explain and discuss the possible social, political, and/or economic problems that urbanization causes. They will also be able to answer the following questions:
• Explain what were the single most important cause and single most important effect of Urbanization and circle them?
• Predict and explain what are the social, political, and/or economic problems that urbanization causes?
• Do these problems still exist today?
This lesson provides teachers with a warm-up activity, individual/guided practice activities, lesson extensions, handouts, and project ideas. The bulk of this lesson will require students to complete a DBQ analysis related to the Urbanization.
