Product Description
This 45-60 minutes lesson plan will provide students a background about Civil Rights Legislation.

At the end of this lesson, students are expected to answer the following questions:

● Why were the rights of some Americans limited before the passing of the Civil Rights Act in 1964?
● What inequalities do you think may have existed for African Americans before this Act was passed?
● Do you think the passage of the Civil Rights Act helped to change life for many African Americans?

This lesson will provide students with a classroom activity, lesson extension, and project ideas. The main lesson will require students to break up into learning groups and answer various open-ended questions. Once they have completed these questions they will engage in a group discussion.
