The purpose of the History of the United States II (1865-present) test is for the student to demonstrate his knowledge of material usually covered in the second semester of a two-semester United States History course. This test requires that the student be able to identify and describe, analyze and interpret and/or compare and contrast historical events and issues.
You can expect to see questions on political institutions and behavior, social and economic developments, cultural and intellectual developments and diplomacy and international relations. This test is not designed to test advanced or highly specialized knowledge.
Test questions cover five main categories and two chronological periods.
Chronologically, 30% of questions cover topics from 1865-1914 and 70% covers topics from 1915-present day.
