This lesson guides the student to create a paper bag biography on famous Americans during the age of industrialization. Because industrialization was so diverse in regards to economic and social status the Americans selected for the teacher to prescribe reflect the economic boom and social problems of the time. This lesson is a great hands on activity that engages the students in teaching the class about this era in United States history. Have fun learning about many famous Americans during this era including: John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Edwin Drake, Cornelius Vanderbilt, Horatio Alger, Herbert Spencer, Boss Tweed, Samuel Gompers and many more. This embraces the jigsaw technique to place the student in the driver's seat of their education on American history.
