Louisiana Purchase- High School
This is approximately a 45-60 minute lesson plan focusing on the importance of The Louisiana Purchase. Beginning with background knowledge with an interactive introduction.
At the end of this lesson, students are expected to answer the following questions:
(1) Describe why and how the Louisiana Purchase took place.
(2) Explain the aftermath of the Louisiana Purchase.
(3) Analyze how the Louisiana Purchase and the journey of Lewis and Clark changed the landscape of the United States.
This lesson will provide students with a classroom activity, lesson extension, and project ideas. The main lesson will require students to break up into learning groups and answer various open-ended questions. Once they have completed these questions they will engage in a group discussion.
