This lesson is designed to last for an hour of class time or longer. Students will be provided with background information about the Early American Settlements. They will show what they know by completing engaging classroom activities and answering various depths of knowledge of questions related to the lesson.
This lesson features discussion ideas and provides both guided and individual activities for students. Students will engage in a classroom activity and complete various tasks found on the activity sheet attached to this lesson. These tasks require students to use their high order thinking skills and be creative.
Some of the questions that will addressed include
Who settled in America and where did they come from?
What motivated these people to move so far away from their homes?
What was the effect of Europeans settling in America?
