This lesson is designed to last for an hour of class time or longer. Students will be provided with background information about The New England Colonies. They will show what they know by completing engaging classroom activities and answering various depths of knowledge of questions related to the lesson.
o Who were the Puritans and what did they believe?
o Who were the Pilgrims in Plymouth and what did they believe?
o How were Puritans and Pilgrims the same and how were they different?
o How did these groups impact each other and how did they impact the time period?
This lesson will provide you with an engaging warm-up activity that will allow you use various quotes associated with this event and ask students to compare and contrast them. This will be followed up by a group activity for students will allow them to take the role of people during this time and answer various questions.
