This lesson is designed to last for an hour of class time or longer. Students will be provided with background information about population density. They will show what they know by completing engaging classroom activities and answering various depths of knowledge of questions related to the lesson.
At the end of this lesson, students are expected to answer the following questions:
1. What is the formula for population density?
2. Can you explain how economic factors affect population density?
3. Can you explain why population density is important?
4. Choose a room in this school to determine the population density within that room.
The lesson will provide teachers with a great warm-up activity that will hook students. They will transition this into an engaging lesson in which students will complete a scavenger hunt related to population density.
