This lesson is designed to last for an hour of class time or longer. Students will be provided with background information about the Progressive Era. They will show what they know by completing engaging classroom activities and answering various depths of knowledge of questions related to the lesson.
At the end of this lesson, students are expected to answer the following questions:
● What was the Progressive Era and what were the major issues faced by society and the government?
● How were the situations handled? Explain the current status of each.
● Compare and Contrast the Progressive Era Issues and modern-day issues in the US.
Teachers will be provided instructions for a warm-up and class activity. They will also receive ideas for future extension activities and projects. The main activity will require students to complete a variety of tasks on a handout attached to this lesson. One of the tasks will require students to highlight an issue during the progressive issue.
