These are preformatted vocabulary cards specific to the content covered on the NY State Regents exam. I created these to provide scaffolded study materials for students to use independently. I created these so that they could be printed on 2” by 4” address labels (like Avery model 5163 or 8163) so that they would be easy for students to create and use.
In an accelerated regents review class I had students match and complete the correct terms by handwriting the correct term to the provided matching definition. Students would get a new set of cards at the beginning of each week and add them to a 2-inch metal ring. The students would then be able to quiz each other and they were encouraged to use them during in class review activities like playing classroom jeopardy. This proved useful for students who had retention issues and for students who had mechanical disabilities like dysgraphia.
I have also provided this resource to accelerated students to create independently for their own at-home studying. Students who created a full set of cards and returned them at the end of the year received extra credit.
I am providing two different versions, one that has the word directly across from the definition and a second example in which the terms are listed separately.
