Looking for a week long research project where students develop their own questions for research? Here it is!
Day 1: Students decide on topics of interest to them and develop questions related to those topics. Then they write down what they think the answer might be.
Day 2-4: Research in computer lab, classroom, and/or library to gather information to answer the questions students came up with.
Day 5: Write their answers or present their answers.

Conduct short research projects to answer a question (including a self-generated question), drawing on several sources and generating additional related, focused questions that allow for multiple avenues of exploration.
Gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources, using search terms effectively; assess the credibility and accuracy of each source; and quote or paraphrase the data and conclusions of others while avoiding plagiarism and following a standard format for citation.
