This lesson is designed to last for an hour of class time or longer. Students will be provided with background information about gender roles during WWII. They will show what they know by completing engaging classroom activities and answering various depths of knowledge of questions related to the lesson.
At the end of this lesson, students are expected to answer the following questions:
● Analyze how World War II changed gender role in US society.
● Determine the impact of females holding industrial jobs during the war.
● What was the effect of World War II on women’s lives?
This lesson is loaded with content that includes warm-up activity, class activity, lesson extensions, and project ideas. Students will read a handout attached to this lesson and complete a variety of tasks. One of the activities will require students to create an infographic related to gender roles.
