This is a 35 slide, highly animated, power point presentations on US Presidents - #3 - Thomas Jefferson - Summary. Each of the presentation slides are editable so you can change it to fit your individual needs.
Thomas Jefferson was an American Founding Father, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence, and the 3rd President of the United States. He was a spokesman for democracy, and embraced the principles of republicanism and the rights of the individual with worldwide influence.
At the beginning of the American Revolution, he served in the Continental Congress, representing VA, and then served as a wartime Governor of Virginia. In May 1785, he became the United States Minister to France and later the first United States Secretary of State serving under President George Washington.
Thomas Jefferson is most noted as being the author of the Declaration of Independence as well as our 3rd President. He was also a diplomat, an architect, a musician, and scientist. His last act of public service was the founding of the University of Virginia in 1819. He valued this accomplishment as much as his authorship of the Declaration of Independence.
His presidency left great legacies that touch the lives of all Americans still today. He will forever be associated with: the Supreme Court decision of “Marbury v Madison”, the Louisiana Purchase and the ratification of the 12th Amendment to the Constitution.
