Perfect for Presidents' Day and U.S. History lesson plans, this set of biography graphic organizers featuring all 45 presidents from Washington to Trump is a perfect way to ensure your students are keeping their research organized and focusing on the most important aspects of the person they're studying. This activity can easily serve as a note-taking tool for an essay or presentation, and can also serve as the biography project itself! This organizer is perfect for integrating literacy into other subjects, especially social studies. It allows students to go beyond reading to really interact with the chosen text as they determine which facts are relevant. If you're looking for a digital version of this resource, find it here.

Each 2-page graphic organizer has space for the following information about each president:

    Important people in their lives

Childhood (how and when did they grow up?)

    Education & career

Fast facts (lifespan, terms in office, and political party)

    Challenges they faced

    Major life events

Where are/were they from? (includes mapping component)

    Personal characteristics

What lesson(s) can you learn from them?

    Fun fact(s)

Resources where you can learn more

This resource is available to be printed in black and white, but I could also make a colored version for you if you are interested (katie.loftin@gmail.com). I'll update the file as new presidents are elected. You'll always have access to these free updates.

These organizers are great for Presidents' Day, American history, government, biography projects, and social studies lessons in general. They would be great for including in interactive notebooks or displaying on bulletin boards or other places in the classroom. You could even have your students create a Book of Presidents to be kept in the reading area.

If you don't have a lot of time or you just want students to focus on the basic information, I also have a 1-page version of this graphic organizer here:
