This is an activity where students read parts of declassified documents of the events surrounding the Rwandan Genocide. The website with more documents and the documents in its entirely is listed on the handout. There are five documents (or sections of documents) that the students will read and answer a few questions. A key is provided. The sources/documents provided: letter stating tensions in Jan. 1994, memo of plane shot down, letter to president, pleaing for help, question of genocide, and statement about genocide (May 1994). Any questions let me know.
