US Symbols: American (U.S.) Symbols Poster Activity- designed with k-1/ primary students in mind.
Let your students show what they know about American symbols using this 8.5 x 11 poster (landscape). This poster will look great hanging outside your classroom and parents will enjoy reading them when they are sent home.
Just a note... I have designed many upper elementary posters (nearly 100) , and I have had requests for some lower grades posters. My posters are simply activity sheets designed with words and images. I tend to have my own format, which I call a 'poster'.
There are 2 poster formats in this pack:
The first one has words already filled in for students to trace (see words below) ,and the second option has dotted lines for you and the class to come up with your own words.
If you are studying symbols, they would fill in one part at the end of that symbol or you could even use it as a culminating activity on the last day of your studies. Use it in your classroom however you would like.
The particular symbols were chosen to go along with the standards for the state of Georgia for kindergarten.
The students will tell what each symbol stands for or what it means.
The symbols included are:
*American Flag- patriotism
*American Bald Eagle - life and strength
*Liberty Bell - freedom
*Statue of Liberty - freedom
*Washington Monument - honors George Washington
*Lincoln Memorial - honors Abraham Lincoln
*Star Spangled Banner - patriotism
*Pledge of Allegiance - honors the flag
*White House- where President lives
Have fun, and I hope your kids enjoy! Thank you. ~Molly
