This is a fun game to play during whole group or small group. To prepare the game make two or three copies of each of the card pages on cardstock. Laminate and cut cards apart. To begin the game, place all cards face down in the middle of the group. It is recommended to make them in more of a “pond” than a pile. Students will take turns drawing a card from the pond. The student must read the card. If he/she reads the sight word correctly, he/ she may keep the card. If he/she is unable to read the sight word the card goes back in the pond. If an “Uh-oh! Cavity” card is drawn then he/she must put back all of his/her collected cards. If a “Good Check-Up!” dentist card is drawn then he/she may take a card from another player.
The winner is the player with the most cards!
