This fun elementary music activity was written as a sub lesson that can be taught by anyone. This lesson may be projected or printed out and shown to the students close up. The sub reads the script on each slide; asks the questions provided; shows the visuals; and follows the directions step by step.
Students look at pictures of ukuleles that have been decorated. They choose among eight worksheets with ukuleles on them and draw their own designs.
There are also two word find puzzles based on ukulele terms. These work well for early finishers.
Teachers will need to print out the worksheets ahead of time. They will also need to provide pencils, crayons, and a hard surface upon which students may draw.
Sample pictures of decorated ukes are included to help inspire ideas for designs.
