I was excited to build my own ukulele storage after seeing carts cost up to $800+! Found this and was excited to buy it (definitely affordable) but was not happy with the actual "plans." Difficult to read, some of the "cut pieces" are not correct. Needs to be updated. If you are not a spatial reasoning person you will find these instructions very difficult to follow since it is just measurements and a few arrows. While I didn't expect in depth detailed instructions...this just didn't do it for me.
I’m sorry- I can’t think of another way to explain the build because I wrote out the plans after I had made it.. so I can’t really deconstruct and do an ikea style connect a to b with a T connector as you are cutting the pieces yourself, therefore needing to label them on your own!
I hope this doesn’t sound rude, as I really don’t mean it to be.. I just honestly can’t think of another way to write the plans out…
Looks like great plans. Can't wait for my husband to make it for my classroom!
This is a great option if you don't want to spend a lot of $$$ on a rack... the plans need to be updated though. You need 4 10" pieces, not 2.
The plans are still not updated as of 11/2021. I was only able to buy 10' long pvc, so I had enough to cut the extra 2 10" pieces.
I also used 1 1/4 inch pipe, which made for a much sturdier cart. Total cost of supplies (including spray paint to paint it black) was about $250.
Thank you for the plans! Compact storage, for an affordable price!
It was fairly simple to put together. It is a bit of a tight fit for concert ukes on the bottom shelf (probably add 2 inches to all dimensions for bottom if I were to make again.
While I didn't use these EXACT plans, they certainly gave me something to work from as my husband and I created ukulele storage for my classroom.
LOVE this design. Make sure you buy the 1 extra 10" PVC pipe since it STILL has not been updated in the plan since the several other reviews pointing it out.
Very easy to follow. I had the high school shop class build it for me.
