Ukulele School - Strumming Pattern 1

Welcome to Ukulele School! The channel for beginners and for teachers! In this video we will learn how to strum on the ukulele.

In order to play strumming pattern 1, you will need to use the back side of your finger (your nail). Not the tip of the nail, but the whole nail.
You will let your nail glide through the strings gently, producing the trademark ukulele sound.

In order to visualize Strumming Pattern 1, you should think 1, 2, 3, 4 over and over.
