Product Description
This packet includes a variety of category sorting and naming activities to address vocabulary and language skills. The following activities are included:

Pg. 3 – 8: Name That Category! (Convergent Naming)
Under each umbrella, there are two pictures. Name the category that these items would fit into. Students can name verbally or write the categories on the line. Laminate cards for extra durability. 36 cards total.

Pg. 9 – 16: What’s Under Your Umbrella? (Divergent Naming)
Print and cut apart the raindrop pictures on pages 9 – 11. Then place those pictures underneath the appropriate umbrellas on pages 12 – 16. Three pictures are included for each of 20 categories.

Pg. 17 – 20: Category Match
Laminate and cut apart the umbrella and raindrop cards. Categories are listed on the umbrellas, and category items are pictured on the raindrops. Select 5 or more pairs to play a simple matching game. Turn selected cards face down on the table. Players take turns flipping over two cards at a time. If the raindrop picture matches the category on the umbrella, the player gets to keep their match. Player with the most matches at the end is the winner. 18 matching pairs + 6 blank pairs are included.

Pg. 21 – 22: What Doesn’t Belong?
Cross out the picture in each group of three which doesn’t belong. Then describe how the other two pictures are related. There are 10 groups of pictures on each page; 20 total categories.

Pg. 23: Dot Reinforcement Page
This open-ended reinforcement page can be used with a variety of activities.

Pg. 24 – 26: Puddle Jumping Board Game
Use this open-ended board game while your students practice their therapy targets. Attach pages to file folder and laminate for extra durability. Small (single-page) and Large (double-page) sizes included.
