By using technology, students use various online apartment search engines to understand the layout, structure, and style of typical Italian homes. Students not only practice the grammar and vocabulary of the unit, but they also get to know the city of Rome better (by researching specific neighborhoods, attractions, etc). After choosing their home, they then create their own classified ad. Their goal use as much detail as possible to sell their property. After completing their ad, the entire class displays their houses at an open house. Students take turns walking around the classroom inquiring about the houses/trying to sell their property. There is a presentational writing and interpersonal speaking rubric attached to the document as well.
